With reference to our letter of yesterday's date and former correspondence as to Chan Tik Cheong discharged from Victoria Gaol yesterday and at present in the custody of the Police we have the honour to again request that you will give directions to the Acting Captain Superintendent of Police to release our client.
The warrant under which the Police claim to have arrested Chan Tik Cheong is not a warrant authorising the arrest, but it is a warrant of detainer addressed to the Superintendent of Victoria Gaol.
